What Is Truth?
What is "truth?" We live in a time where not everyone agrees that there is such a thing as truth, much less agree on what it is. Even within the Church there is confusion as to the meaning of truth and the extent to which truth touches every single aspect of our lives, from philosophy and science to history, law and work. What does the Bible have to say about community, our relationship with God, and even God Himself? Can it be that there is one totally encompassing Truth that ties it all together? What implications would that have for the way we live our lives each and every day?
To answer these questions, Focus on the Family and Dr. Del Tackett, President of Focus on the Family Institute, have produced a DVD-based small group curriculum called "The Truth Project." Composed of 12 lessons and over 13 hours of material, the DVD curriculum discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. Each lesson looks at life from a biblical perspective, studying the very nature and character of God and how He has revealed Himself to us.
The Truth Project takes small groups on a journey that starts with a look at the very nature of truth itself, explores the questions of "who is man?" and "who is God?" It explores the area of science, answering the question "what is science?" It also examines what nature reveals about God himself.
In fact, the focus of every single lesson is on the very nature of God. Since God created this universe, we'd expect that every aspect of it would reveal something about the Creator. And it does! The amazing thing about The Truth Project is how it ties together so many different disciplines and areas of life, like science, history, philosophy, law, work, theology, and community, and shows how they all point to God's magnificent character and sovereignty.
Everyone who goes through this worldview curriculum cannot help but be impacted by the truth of God's Word and His sovereignty in all things.
The Center for Arizona Policy has partnered with Focus on the Family to help facilitate and promote The Truth Project in Arizona. CAP staff members have personally lead more than a dozen small groups, and participants in those groups have gone on to start nearly 50 more Truth Project groups!
We are pleased to announce that Focus on the Family will be bringing Truth Project training to Arizona January 18th and 19th at Scottsdale Bible Church, with Dr. Del Tackett personally leading the training! The only way to obtain the materials to lead your own Truth Project small group is to either go through one of these statewide training or go through all 12 lessons in a small group setting.
For more information on Truth Project statewide training, please visit www.thetruthproject.org/events. If you would like to join a Truth Project small group, or you have already received training and want to invite others to join, please visit www.azpolicy.org/TruthProject, where we list groups starting up all over the state. You will not regret getting involved in one of the most exciting and potentially life-changing teachings to ever be produced!
