WOMAN'S HEALTH

What Do You REALLY want in 2008?

New Year's Resolutions. How are you doing with yours?

What do you really want?

This question and your answer can have a significant impact on your wellness and overall mind, body and emotional well-being.

What is your intention?

Our intention lies deep inside of us. If you examine who you are, what you feel passionate about and what you want to create in your life, you can find your intention.

Whether it is health and vitality, financial wealth, positive relationships or experiencing inner peace and happiness, having an understanding of what we really want is the first step in clarification of our intentions.

Intention comes from within. It is what you want to feel, be, experience, create or have.

Part of my work is to help people focus on what they really want and support them in channeling their energy towards empowerment and healing rather than stress and anxiety which suppresses the immune system.

Research trends are showing that the potential for focusing on what we really want, intention, is having a positive impact on overall health and wellness.

The Department of Health and Human Services publication, Healthy People 2010 (November 2000) reports that 70% of disease is preventable.

Compelling research has created a radical shift in the definition of health care and medicine. In the past, it was believed that innocent people developed disease and needed medicine to fix them. This new information
suggests that people are responsible for their own health status. They can reduce their risk for disease through information, personal action, and inspiration to shift their behavior, for instance exercise, diet, lifestyle.

Our intentions are the direction we take toward wellness. Wellness of mind, body and spirit far surpasses simply being in good health. Wellness can lead to a happier state of being and quality of life.

Studies have shown that the happier we are, the better the chemistry of our bodies. One study found that 95% of body health is not determined by genetics but by our beliefs about life and our stress level.

This new perspective of the biology of humans does not view the body as just a mechanical device. It incorporates the role of a mind and spirit. This breakthrough in biology is foundational in all healing because it recognizes that when we change our perception or beliefs, we send altogether different messages to our cells and this changes how things happen at the cellular level. This is why people can have spontaneous remissions or recover from seemingly permanent disabilities.

The power of intention or "What do you REALLY want?" is in the center of it all. We need to access and utilize our inner strengths and assets to give us the power to make personal changes and maximize wellness of our bodies, minds and spirits.
