Former Canyon del Oro High School baseball star and former Major Leaguer Colin Porter is back home. During his nine-year career, he spent time with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Houston Astros. But when it came time to hang up his cleats, Colin wasn’t ready to completely give up the game. He wanted to share his love and passion for baseball with the next generation.

So Colin and his good friend Marty Flack decided to start Touch ‘Em All Baseball Academy for boys and girls where kids could not only learn all the right moves, but learn to really love the game. It’s their hope that any kid who wants to play ball will come out, no matter what their skill level might be.

Touch ‘Em All’s mission statement is very clear as to what they’re all about:

Touch ‘Em All understands the commitment parents make for their child to play club baseball. Therefore, TEA will ALWAYS do their best to respect your family’s time. Touch ‘Em All will provide fundraising opportunities for underwriting your child’s membership, no child will be turned away from playing the game they love because of their families financial situation or a players current skill level.

According to Colin, “We believe that kids gain confidence and a love for the game through positive feedback from parents, coaches, and other players. Skill levels develop at different rates for kids, but effort and having fun can always be achieved.”

Marty Flack, a UA alumni with over 25 seasons of experience coaching youth sports teams, shared the goals of the academy:

“Our goals at TEA are to further develop your child’s baseball skills & knowledge of the game, to have fun and develop a love for the game, to learn about the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, and to give positive reinforcement based on effort rather than results. And, of course, win!”
