A Little History
It all began 20 years ago. The magazine was founded by Doug Martin, President
and General Manager of Good News Communications (which owns Tucson’s
KVOI 690 AM and KGMS). Martin started GNT in 1987 with the goal of giving
the Tucson community... well, good news.
“When you look at the Tucson Weekly there needs to be a counterbalance to that publication,” said Martin. “Sure there is a seamy side of Tucson, but there also is a positive side. That is what GNT does.”
Twenty years later, ownership has transferred to Media Solutions Group, Inc., whom Martin passed the baton to in 2002. And Martin is proud to see the magazine rise in success and popularity. “I am thrilled to see GNT recognized as a significant force in our community. This is truly exciting!”
I serve as the magazine’s 5th editor, following Lloyd London, Adam Colwell, Pamela Jimenez, and Jacqueline McAbee, who is now the publisher.
It is an incredible honor to be a part of a family publication that is a positive voice in Arizona. This magazine is making a difference in Southern Arizona because it is not only informational but a tool to help families live happier, love each other better, and grow stronger. It is truly a privilege to present good news to you!
