The Old Pueblo Welcomes Country Great Randy Travis

One of country music’s biggest stars will be in Tucson Thursday, May 22nd at 7PM and the admission is FREE. Randy Travis is the special musical guest Thursday night at the three-day Past, Present and Future Seminar.

Randy Travis is an icon in the world of country music. With 16 top twenty albums, five reaching number one, Travis has been credited for beginning Country Music’s great crossover into mainstream music. His singles have cracked the top twenty 33 times with 28 of them reaching the top ten and 16 of them going all the way to number one!

With more than 21 million albums sold, Randy Travis ranks in the top ten selling country solo artists of all time. He has also recorded two Christmas albums and four Gospel albums.

“What I want to do is alternate Christian and Country records, I really do like doing both of them. I was baptized a little over 14 years ago, and I really enjoy doing gospel performances, music ministry as they call it.”

His new album, “Around the Bend,” features foot stomping songs, ballads, and even a touch of the blues. Randy even adds a jazzy feel to Bob Dylan’s classic “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.”

“There are so many songs on here that I feel good about, which is a wonderful thing.”

The band is finely tuned and his signature voice distinctly captures the listener’s attention with each track from “Around the Bend”. The critics are already saying “Around the Bend” may be Randy’s best work yet.

See Randy Travis Thursday, May 22nd at 7 p.m. at the TCC. For more information about the Past, Present, Future Conference, visit www.pastpresentfuture.org.
