Let Go and Let God
I was praying with a woman recently and she made me so mad I wanted to bop her on the head. That doesn’t sound very loving does it? But she had her nerve!

We were praying for my family and suddenly she fixed me with an almost fierce
stare and said: “You need to ask Jesus to forgive you. You have
a heart of stone!” “What!” I almost yelled back at
her. “I have a lot of faults but I think I have a compassionate
heart.” Then she added salt to the wound and said, “Jesus
may be your Savior but He is not your Lord.” “Of course
He is,” I replied hotly. “I love God with all my heart.”
And then she blew the poison dart that pierced my heart. “You
may have compassion for the whole world but you have hardened your heart
because you are so angry at God that He hasn’t healed your daughter.”
Wow! I just stood there amazed. One of our children has been
ill for the last two years and I suddenly realized that I was fed up waiting
for a miracle for her. Sobs engulfed my body and I leaned against the
wall, sobbing and broken.
I realized that I wanted our child healed on my timetable, in my way. As
this woman gently placed her arms around me she told me how she had walked
my same path. She asked me to please move over and let God be the driver;
I needed to rest in the passenger’s seat. I have moved over and Psalm
147:3 is becoming more alive to me everyday: “He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.” He is creating a new me! I am now
letting go and letting God, and it is wonderful.
God bless you,
Kathy
