Christmas Gifts

Wow! This past year has gone by so incredibly fast. And now, IT'S DECEMBER! Gifts are one of the things we think about the most when Christmas rolls around, but one of the things we don't think about as much is the fact that Christmas was the day that Jesus was born. It's not all about the presents, hot cocoa, and caroling, though those are very, very wonderful. Christmas is about celebrating the gift that God gave to us as humans, the gift of Jesus being born. The first real gift that was given to us was from God; He GAVE us the gift of Jesus. So, one thing that we should remember is that it's not all about receiving; it's about giving, too!

Although gifts are not the TRUE meaning of Christmas, they are a very fun part, which I look forward to. In fact, I'm hoping to find a new digital camera and a new Bible with my name on them under our tree this year. Here's the question that I asked kids around Northwest Tucson: What do you hope to find under your Christmas tree this year?

Allyssa, age 14
Ironwood Ridge High School

"Under my Christmas tree, I hope to find a new iPod nano and a Pink Chocolate phone."

RJ, age 10
Copper Creek Elementary

"Under my Christmas tree, I hope that I find a Wii or a baseball bat with a glove!"

Valerie, age 11
Coronado K-8

"Under my Christmas tree, I hope that I find a pink digital camera and a new sewing machine!"

Johnny, age 9
Painted Sky Elementary

"Under my Christmas tree, I hope to find an iguana and a PSP game."

James, age 12
St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton's

"I hope to find a Wii under my Christmas tree!!"

Merry, Merry Christmas and also…
a happy new year!

I hope your Holiday season is wonderful, filled with hope,
joy, peace, and love!!!
