Leadership Opportunities
In this pilot program you’ll find projects that are flexible, short-term
and require executive, professional or management experience. These positions
are designed to challenge the expertise of qualified volunteers in new and

Call games for senior residents on Wednesday evenings at B'nai B'rith.
Experience. Share It.
Change a young person's life - and yours. Experience Corps volunteers, 55 and
older, provide one-on-one tutoring to select Flowing Wells and TUSD students
in grades K - 3. Volunteering 15 hours per week qualifies you for a $108
biweekly stipend. Extensive training and peer support enhances this national
program. Call 881-3300.
Animal Foster Care
Provide care, in your home, for puppies or kittens too young for adoption.
The animals may be from stressed environments or be sick, injured or abandoned.
Food, supplies and medicine are provided.
Lead a Class
Junior Achievement gives you a full curriculum of lessons complete with kid-friendly
activities and materials. You'll be so well-prepared that a class of 8 year-olds
won't be able to intimidate you!
Customer Service
Enjoy direct contact with diverse people in a busy state office on West Irvington.
Assist clients seeking social services, help complete applications, refer
clients to outside agencies, and do basic office tasks.

Books?
Help with a May book sale. Stock shelves, greet customers, work the check out
lanes, and rummage for books at great prices.

C'est Bon!
Alliance Francaise is developing community French classes. Skills such as human
resources, fundraising, law, or general educational knowledge are important
at this developmental, leadership point. Volunteers do not need to know French.
Talking About Art
Museum of Art volunteers combine a love of art with lively discussion. They
present one-hour slide show programs about the museum's collections to adult
groups such as assisted-living or nursing home residents. Teaching experience
or an art background is a plus.
Board Members
The Hermitage Cat Shelter is considering applicants for board positions. Candidates
are committed to our mission of providing sanctuary to special needs cats,
re-homing adoptable cats, and educating our community about animal care.
Hope Hotline
A ministry runs a confidential call-line for callers in crisis. Volunteers
need emotional maturity and the ability to offer support that fits within
the caller's life and faith.
Our Home in the Desert
Enrich elementary school environmental programs by presenting a prepared 45
minute program complete with slides, handouts and "show and tell" items.
Keep a Food Bank Open
An interfaith agency needs help running the desk of a food bank. Volunteers
must be comfortable with computers and enjoy helping those in need. Weekday
mornings.
Youth Board Member
Enthusiastic, communicative middle and high school students are invited to
serve as Board members at a children's museum. You'll make decisions about
exhibits and participate in fundraising or marketing. Call 792-9985.
Our Nation's Veterans
Interested in volunteer opportunities at the VA? Adults can attend informational
orientations on April 3 and 21. Students interested summer volunteering will
have an orientation on June 2. RSVP at 629-1822.
Reduce Juvenile Crime
Community Justice Board holds juvenile offenders accountable, assigns consequences,
and monitors their rehabilitation. Board members are needed with backgrounds
in social services and rehab, grant proposals, and marketing.
Ronald McDonald House
Volunteer as a family -- assisting visitors or giving tours of the House, organizing
rooms or supplies, helping with projects, answering phones, or preparing
rooms for guest families.
Data Entry
Review health clinic data entries on Thursdays, 1 - 7 p.m. Knowledge of EXCEL
is essential.
