Arizona Women's Conference
A variety of activities, starting now, will make possible the event on September
26. Pass out fliers at sports events and businesses; assemble conference
bags; help with the silent auction; set up for the event; register and greet
attendees; and more.
Greenhouse Garden
Like to get dirt under your fingernails? Propagate arid plants from deserts
around the world to create lush native gardens. Educate Tohono Chul visitors
about preservation of resources and animal habitat.
Board Member
Commit to improve the lives of people with disabilities by serving as a board
member for United Cerebral Palsy. Grant writing and public relations skills
are essential. Call 795-3108.
Cancer Center Hosts
Greet patients arriving for treatment at Tucson Medical Center, offer snacks
and coffee, and provide information about Sunstone cancer programs.
Food Bank Farmers' Market
Staff the education booth at the Thursday evening market at Santa Cruz River
Park. Welcome visitors, distribute educational material, answer questions
and help Food Bank staff.
Quarterly Newsletter Writer
Produce articles, assist with layout and proofread the text. You'll promote
the programs and events of Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network.
CARE Fair
This 'one-stop shopping' event, July 27 - 28, provides families in need with
a variety of services including dental checkups, medical exams, immunizations,
legal services and food baskets. Volunteers help with registration and logistics.
Last year over 10,000 people received services.
Administration for Disaster Preparedness
Assist the Director of an AmeriCorps disaster preparedness project. Your
professional skills will facilitate recruitment, written and oral communication,
information management and grant research.
Green Valley Business Counselors
SCORE volunteers share their valuable business skills and experience. They
are recognized community and business leaders who provide free, one-on-one
counseling. Call 260-6617.
Volunteer at Home
Coordinate delivery of meals to homebound clients by phoning drivers listed
in a database. This critical position can be completed in a couple hours
each week. Required skills: partly detective, completely friendly.
Harnessing Board Members
Develop community awareness of Desert Dove Farms' horse therapy programs
for youth. Apply your knowledge about nonprofits and fundraising to build
networks and financial support. Call 296-0320.
Wednesday Evenings
Learn about Southern Arizona Aids Foundation and help with bulk mailings,
packet assembly or the project of the day. Fun and snacks from 6-8 p.m. on
Wednesdays.
Girl Scout Outreach
Assist with programs that introduce underserved girls to Girl Scouts. The
programs last 6 - 8 weeks and are held in schools or parks. If you value
friendship, challenge, integrity, and fun, you are qualified to help.
Computer Tutor
Teach basic computer skills, including common programs and use of the Internet,
to small groups of adults. You choose the time of day you wish to tutor.
Wellness Clinics for Seniors
Assist public health nurses by checking blood pressure and other senior health
needs. Volunteering improves your health. Are you as fit as the seniors you'll
check?
Community Projects
Jewish Family & Children's Service sponsors projects throughout the year.
Volunteers assist with various aspects of these events, bringing joy to needy
families in our town.
Literacy Tutors, Age 55+
Share your experiences while tutoring children in K - 3. Training and peer
support are excellent in this nationally acclaimed program. Volunteers serving
15 hours per week receive a stipend. Sign up now and start in August. Call

Museum Shop
Are you an extrovert who can correctly count cash, loves cold war history,
and enjoys meeting museum guests from around the world? Volunteer at the
Titan Missile Museum gift shop.
Caring in Catalina
The community will appreciate your help driving seniors, preparing food boxes,
delivering or making meals, and sorting food and clothing donations.
