Leadership Opportunities
In this pilot program you'll find projects that are flexible, short-term and require executive,
professional or management experience. These positions are designed to challenge your expertise in new and interesting ways. For example, the Tucson Zoological Society needs a planner to design and implement programs to promote Reid Park Zoo. CARE Fair
This event, July 27 - 28, provides needy families with services including dental checkups, medical exams, immunizations, legal services and food baskets. Several hundred volunteers help with registration and logistics.

Instructors for Seniors
Folks in an assisted-living home would like to learn about computers, photography, exercise, and Bible Study.

AmeriCorps Positions
AmeriCorps members design and implement service projects, working at the Volunteer Center or other sites in Tucson. You'll make strong community connections and develop program management skills. Candidates must be 18 or over and be creative, flexible and committed. Members serve full-time; benefits include a living allowance and an education award.

Art Docent
Give tours of exhibitions, present art lectures to the public, and take the excitement of art to children in schools and hospitals. Tucson Museum of Art docents are dynamic, enthusiastic and they love art.

Deliver Donations
Volunteer one morning a week, driving Habitat for Humanity's truck, to pick up and deliver donations of furniture, construction supplies and appliances. Heavy lifting is involved, but you'll be first to see the bargains!

Youth Volunteers, Age 13+
Facilitate art or science activities, run birthday parties, participate in special events and learn about daily museum operations at Tucson Children's Museum.

Food Stamp Outreach
Conduct pre-screenings and hand out applications for food. Over 44,000 people in Pima County are eligible for food stamps but are not receiving them.

Handyman On-Call
Change lightbulbs and a/c filters, move boxes or furniture, and do other light maintenance chores in a friendly mid-town office. No regular schedule; we'll call you when we need you. Call Carol at 881-3300.

Give a Little Love
Help families with a seriously ill child. Be a special friend to siblings, run errands, or accompany the ill child to a clinic visit. Rated a 5 star experience by volunteers.

Pet Adoptions
Taking animals from the shelter to other venues is an effective and fun way to find them homes. Volunteers might transport animals, help with off-site adoptions or paperwork, answer care questions or exercise animals.

Literacy Tutors, Age 55+
Share your life experiences while tutoring children in K - 3. Training and peer support are excellent in this national program. Volunteers working 15 hours a week receive a stipend. Sign up now and start in August!

Cold War Enthusiasts
Share your interest in history by conducting tours or greeting guests to the Titan II Missile Museum. Museum greeters give a brief summary of the tour and explain safety issues. Docents interact with people from around the world while leading tours.

Educate Pregnant Teens
Market educational services by meeting with obstetricians, clinics, schools and community groups. A dynamic personality will enhance outreach and serve greater numbers of pregnant teens.
