In honor of the celebration, members of the faith community are invited
to join in a Prayer Walk from 7-9 a.m. at “A Mountain” (Sentinel
Peak).
The Prayer Walk will be a time to acknowledge the work of God in our community. The event organizers hope this will be a time for the faith community to humble themselves before God and ask for His help and favor as people pray about the problems confronting our city.
“We hope people experience a sense of thankfulness and humility before God,” said Catherine Wills, a staff member at Community Renewal. Community Renewal is a local ministry that focuses on uniting the body of Christ to meet needs in the Tucson community.
“We will gather together as the broader faith community with the focus on God,” said Wills. “We will celebrate the faith legacy of Tucson, and unite to face our problems together through prayer.”
Churches are invited to participate in this important event. Come out and represent your church, your denomination and the legacies of your faith in this Inter-faith prayer walk.
