Organic Farm Interns
A Marana farm, managed by the Tucson Food Bank, is producing organic produce, herbs and flowers. Interns can work in areas of their interest, such as fruit and vegetable production or a special project to develop the farm.

Tucson Ambassadors
Do you love Tucson? Are you familiar with all of the wonderful things to do and see here? You might be a perfect fit to work a weekly four-hour shift in the Tucson Visitor Center in downtown Tucson. You'll meet over 70,000 curious visitors each year.

AmeriCorps for Youth Now
AmeriCorps members design and implement service projects for the Youth Now program, working at the Volunteer Center or other sites. You'll make strong community connections and develop program management skills. Candidates must be 18 or over and be creative, flexible and committed. Members serve full-time; benefits include a living allowance and an education award.

Child Advocate
Be court-appointed to visit an abused or neglected child. Meet with people influential in the child's life, then report to the court about the status and best interests of the child. A two year commitment is required.

Pre-Adolescent Workshops
Facilitate groups of pre-adolescent, first-offenders. Help these youth develop self-esteem, increase anger management, improve communication and problem solving, and develop peer-pressure resistance.

Middle School Reading
La Cima Middle School, in Amphitheater District, has below-level readers who would benefit from one-on-one instruction and attention. The volunteer tutors will follow a scripted reading program.

Love books?
Stock shelves, greet customers, write receipts or ring sales at an October book sale. Some positions involve lifting or standing. Volunteer requirements: ability to read and great expectations for fun.

Spanish Interpreters
Needed in Hospital Aid Spanish-speaking patients by interpreting for English-speaking doctors who examine the patients during medical visits or hospital stays.

Adventures in service for Americans over 55
Mentor a K - 3 student. You'll share your life experiences and learn from your student as you solve serious social problems by improving literacy. Volunteers serving 12 - 15 hours per week are eligible for a small stipend to cover expenses. Excellent training and peer support. Call 881-3300, ext. 107.

Help Refugees
Sell quality clothing and small household items, or accept tax-deductible donations at a thrift store, Fridays through Sundays. The proceeds benefit refugee communities.

Computer Instructors, Age 50+
Instructors and assistants are sought to teach an expanded curriculum to "Boomers". Classes for small groups of beginners are also offered. If you're computer literate, friendly and helpful, you can teach a beginning course -- and know you're helping seniors enter a new world.

Hospital Host
Be a friendly face to family and friends waiting for loved ones in surgery or critical care. St Mary's Hospital; all shifts.

Healing Retreat
Sunstone's 14 acre oasis for cancer survivors will be lush and green after the summer rain. Enjoy the cooler weather, the natural beauty and a flexible schedule. Gardening tips are provided.

English Tutor
Teach English to a Spanish-speaking woman twice a week near Glenn and Miracle Mile. Materials and training provided.

Grant Writer
Research and write grant proposals for the support and education of pregnant teens. Assist the executive director with edits and review past proposals.
