A Simple Way To Protect Your Family
During an emergency at your home, there are times when you may be unable to speak or think clearly. That's why Southwest Ambulance is encouraging all Tucson area residents to allow Envelope for Life to "speak" for you. Making sure Emergency Medical Personnel have your important medical information.
Envelope for Life is a kit you can keep in your refrigerator that includes your vital medical history information. This tool may help first responders treat you more quickly and efficiently during an emergency.
For example, let's say a member of your household has a pre-existing medical condition. If the emergency personnel are able learn about the pre-existing condition from the Envelope for Life kit, it allows us diagnose the patient and treat the problem more quickly. Sometimes the information may tell us what problem to look for. Other times it may tell us to look for a different cause than the pre-existing condition for the current emergency need.
Southwest Ambulance and Good News Tucson have teamed together to include an Envelope for Life that you can download and print from your PC.
Here's how Envelope for Life works:1) Fill out the medical information frm for everyone in your home. Make more copies as needed or download them at www.southwestambulance.com.
2) Put the information form in the provided envelope, or in any available envelope and write "Envelope for Life" on the outside. Stick or tape the envelope to the inside wall on the right side of your refrigerator.
3) Place the provided logo (or download one from www.southwestambulance.com) and place it on the outside top left corner of your refrigerator's door to alert emergency personnel that the envelope is inside.
